I worked at Keeler Motor Car in Latham, NY for over 12 years. Mr. Keeler and his family became like a second family to me. So when I decided to leave in 2012 to spend more time with my kiddos it was gut wrenching. I had made some amazing friends and I wasn't sure how I was going to "cope" not working and having that work family to lean on. Luckily enough I didn't have to worry for too long.
When I started Wendy Lawrence Events one of the first calls was from Keeler. They wanted to hire me as their event planner for the customer appreciation party at Mercedes-Benz. I was so happy to be brought back in to the Keeler family.
This year marked the golden anniversary for the Mercedes-Benz Center and Keeler Motor Car and I was thrilled to be asked back to coordinate the event with their amazing staff. We blew it out of the park with some amazing vendors, including; Fine Affairs who did decor and designed the entire building, Funk Evolution who had the crowd of over 700 people on their feet all night long, Franklin Plaza Catering who kept everyone fed with their delicious food as well as Rain or Shine Rentals and DeCrescente Distributing.
The invitation-only event, which was held in the showroom of The Mercedes-Benz Center at Keeler Motor Car Company hosted over 700 Mercedes-Benz customers and their guests. Owner Alexander Keeler and members of the Keeler family donated $10,000 each to Albany Medical Center, St. Peter’s Hospital, and the Capital Region chapters of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
“We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 50th year selling Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the Capital Region,” said Peter Connolly, General Manager of The Mercedes-Benz Center at Keeler Motor Car Company, “and we’re very excited by the prospect of being able celebrate this milestone by also giving something back to the community that has supported this family-owned and operated business for the past half a century.”
Guests at the event were able to offer their support to these charities and non-profit groups by participating in an Auction, featuring a number of prizes donated by local merchants, including jewelry from Hannoush Jewelers, Pavillion Grand Hotel, 15 Church Restaurant in Saratoga Springs, D’Raymonds Restaurant in Colonie, Rumors Salon and Spa, The Otesaga Resort in Cooperstown, NY and golf and dining packages from Prime at Saratoga National.
